Riprap is large mixed-size rock used for streambank reinforcement, outfalls, and lining slopes. Riprap is graded by the size of the largest 20 percent of the rock. For example, the largest 20% of class 100 will weigh an average of 80 to 100 pounds. Riprap will contain all sizes if rock down to fines.
